Great Blue Herons are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. I was especially happy to be close enough to photograph this one in flight.

I found these Greater Yellowlegs wading in water yesterday. I don’t ever remember seeing this type of bird before. I’m not sure if they spend the summer here or may have been passing through the area. In any case, I’m happy to have run across them while I had my camera with me 🙂

I found this pair of Bufflehead ducks skimming along the water yesterday. Their skill in flying so close to the waves and each other was a sight to behold.

This cheerful sounding little House Finch flew in for a visit today. It looks like there is a lot more activity with the birds in my area. Perhaps many of them are passing through while some will be building nests nearby soon.

I found this little pink colored surprise waiting for me outside my door today and had to share it here. It actually was quite large for moths I’ve seen, this one measuring about 4 inches wingtip to wingtip. Its been a while since I posted, hopefully I’ll have more time the rest of this summer. In the meantime, enjoy nature’s work of art here 🙂
Note: A good friend of mine pointed out that this is probably an Imperial Moth. Here’s a link with more info 🙂

I recently created this video showing some of the work I’ve done. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂
